Subhashini Chandrasekharan is an Assistant Research Professor in the Global Health Institute at Duke University. Her research interests encompass ethical, legal, social and policy issues surrounding genetic/genomic technologies and the sociocultural and economic factors affecting their global dissemination and adoption. Specifically she studies innovation, commercialization and access to biomedical technologies, particularly genomic diagnostics. Current research projects examine commercialization of noninvasive prenatal genetic testing technologies and barriers to clinical adoption and patient access in the US and in developing countries.
